B.1 Common Terms
Remote Work - Work performed primarily outside a physical office location, with communication and collaboration handled via digital tools and video conferencing.
Async Communication - Asynchronous communication where messages and responses are not expected in real-time, allowing team members in different time zones to participate effectively.
POM (Personal Operating Manual) - A document that describes an individual team member’s work style, preferences, and how they prefer to be communicated with.
POL (Policy) - A formal guideline governing conduct or procedures within the organization.
SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) - A detailed, step-by-step guide for completing routine or recurring tasks.
OKR (Objectives and Key Results) - A goal-setting framework that defines what to achieve (objectives) and how to measure progress (key results).
Time Zone Alignment - Scheduling meetings and deadlines to accommodate team members working across multiple time zones.
Access Control - Security measures that determine who can access specific systems, tools, and information.
Compliance - Adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Escalation - The process of raising an issue to a higher level of management or authority for resolution.
